Post Problem at the track w/my T-56

I took my T/A to the track for the first time today for an all pontiac show and experienced a scary problem with the tranny. On all but one of my passes when trying to hit 4th it would grind then throw it back out of gear causing me to lose all momentum. I have the stock T-56 with a B&M Ripper short shifter. At first I thought it was me because I know this shifter is kinda picky but once it did it time after time and I didnt have any problems with any other gear I realized something isnt right. Even worse I know something must be wrong. Anybody else have this problem?

Oh yeah, this caused me to get eliminated in the first round. Had the guy beat until I went for 4th....

Pads are probably worn on the Fork or the Fork is bent..could be a Synchro issue but I'm leaning toward the Fork.

I would check your shifter stops first, on teh shifter itself.

If good, then probaly a synchro/pad/key/fork problem. (one or all)
