Default T56 Rebuild

I'm beginning to put together the pieces to rebuild my transmission. I currently have a grind from 2-3 and 4-5 when I'm running it hard. I also get grind when I put it in reverse just about every time.

My question is where are people getting their reubild kits? What brands are good, who to order it from?

Also will a standard rebuild hold over 400 WHP?

What has everyone used?

For do it yourselfers, I would recommend Tick Level II. Holds 600 RWTQ. They are forum vendors and many members have used their kit with great results.

I'm checking them out but they only list prices with their labor. I'm trying to find their price for just the parts

You really shouldn't buy any parts until you get the trans torn down/inspected. No reason to buy stuff you don't need or have to make another order because you have some trashed parts not included in "kits".

why not replace it while your there? So what if it gives you a few more parts? Take the extra minutes and replace it.

maybe b/c it takes 45 minutes to an hour to full drop and pull the transmission out from under the car and set it on the bench, and thats without a lift

I think this is a good idea. I think its smart to see what I need before I order anything because I'd hate to find out that i dont have enough stuff to finish the job
