Default LS1 vs. LT1 T56 Tailshaft Housing

I have read conflicting information regarding if an LS1-style tailhousing and LT1-style housing are interchangeable. Can anyone confirm that they are completely interchangeable? Or, if not, what's the difference? Thanks!

They are the same.. Any tailhousing swap should retain the Rev Idler that came with the tailhousing, or it needs to be carefully installed and checked to make sure the proper clearances are maintained. Some idlers have 2 washers, some have 1, others have none.
