Default Shift point...

Well idk if there is another thread like this, but where do u guys usually shift? U guys with the stock and non stock ls's. I usually shift around 6grand. Or should I take it closer to the limiter?

After all the discussion, it depends on your powerband... just keep in mind that the stock tach lags slightly. In 1st gear at WOT, if it shows 6k, you may really be closer to 6200. Shift light FTW.

you need to have your car dyno'd if you haven't yet. that graph will tell you where your peak horsepower is at. when you shifting gears try to hit the peak hp mark. remember to account for your reaction time, say your peak is at 6000rpm you would probably start to shift at about 5800rpm so once you are releasing the clutch peddal you'll hopefully hit 6000rpm. or just dont lift off the gas pedal and use clutch just before rev limiter take action..

I've been wanting to try that but I'm scared lol.

no need to power shift. On a stock or bolton car your going to want the shift at about 6k. My shift light is set for 5800 so i just hit six when i shift.
