Thats what happens when you take all the profits for yourself and do not reinvest it back in the business. Race cars are not cheap to build either.

I recieved the full $500 that I had paid into mine, and from what I can tell I am the only one to recieve a full refund.

My story is I had sent in a check for my deposit right before I left for Iraq in Sep of '08, and right at the middle of that October is when the word finally came out that they were closing down. I went online to look at my check and saw that it had been altered in order to cash it. It was still within the 60 days so I made contact with the Bank and started the Fraud Investigation. I let that fact be known to Joe and I recieved my full refund a week later.

There is one other member that has recieved a patial refund. I think I got mine back cause I still had legal backing..it seems that they are using the Bankruptcy excuse for the rest of you.

I hope it works out for you guys.

No, you aren't the only one....I was owed a small refund ($150.00) from a viper yoke...I saw them at the LSX shootout...I didn't mention the money just asked a question about a tranny...Amber asked me if she still owed me some money, I said yes, don't worry about it...And the next thing I know, Wormboy (josh) LMR put the money in my hand..

I was probably one of their last customers, When I shipped them my trans for the rebuild with upgrades, It was a week late on the return trip, I was actually talking with amber on her personal cell phone, One thing I do know is that The hurricane hit that area hard and she had told me that their shop was in ruins, It was after I got my trans back. Personally she was a sweetheart and very friendly and helpful, not sure what went bad, but sorry about all the lost money, I got mine rebuilt, but....no warranty, and when I got it back I never got a reciept, so kinda hard for me to prove I had the work done except for the bank records.

I was very surprised when the horror stories surfaced about Six Speeds. Earlier that year I had driven my car to Houston so they could rebuild my gearbox. Joe amd Amber did a great job on the rebuild, and even took me out to lunch (a cool Texas Bar-B-Que joint). My experience was quite different than that of others on the board.

I do remember seeing their photo's in Hotrod magazine awhile back. I would presume they are still actively involved in racing.

I got my money as soon as I asked for it. She was trying to get the trans out to me as much as she could, eventualy it just got too fristrating and I asked for a refund. A day or two later I had my money in hand.

Can't say a single bad thing about Amber and Joe. Sorry to dissapoint.

Now I have a Tick Faceplated /Viper-ed T56 and could not be happier.
