Default Just bought an M6, newb questions

Well, I now own the car in my sig...I am thrilled to say the least!!

I have some questions I didn't see covered in the stickies.

I want a short throw shifter, which one do you guys recommend? I know its all about feel and preference, so I am open to suggestions here.

My clutch pedal squeaks like crazy, loud squeaking when I press it in...what the hell do I lube or oil it with and where?

Thanks for baring with me, the stickies yielded nothing.

I never use WD40 on stuff that needs real lubrication. I only use it on stuff like bolts that are rusted together or what not to get them loose.

Get some white lithium grease for the job, or the like.

For the squeaking find Fluid Film. He's a sponsor on here. He'll send you a small sample can and use that. It stopped my front squeaking. Or just replace the spring for the clutch pedal. It's maybe $10 at most from the dealership

Another guy with a squeaky clutch. Never got around to messin with it.

To OP, I've got an LS1speed short stick. I like it. If you've got the factory hurst, just replace the stock wobble-stick with a new shorter one.

Congrats on your new ride -- looks sharp.

I have a Pro 5.0 mated with Lou's Short Stick (ws6store.com) and I absolutely love it. Had an upgraded Hurst in there before and I prefer the Pro 5.0 hands down. The 2-3 shift with the Pro 5.0 is very smooth -- feels like it's linear....won't have to worry about missing that one any more!

Hey, take the advice and try Fluid Film. I'll ship out a sample can to any member who hasn't tried it and lives in the US. That is how confident we are that Fluid Film will stop that squeaking clutch. It does a heck of a lot more than just stop squeaks, too.
