Default Clutch switch?

I have an 01 SS that had the clutch replaced with an LS7 clutch about a week ago. The engine light came on today. Stopped by Advance auto parts and had the code read. It came out to be "clutch switch malfunction". Anyone heard of this or should I stop somewhere else to have the code read? Is there a switch to keep you from starting the car in gear without the clutch pushed in?

Yeah there is a switch that does that if you reach above the clutch peddle it'll be up there
