Default How many have broken the plastic rectangle for the shift boot

Mine broke this morning while I was installing my new shifter. Now I can't put my shift boot on and my car looks ghetto. Has this ever happened to anyone before? If so how did you fix it?

This is the easiest thing to fix! I've had this happen to me three times. The clip is made out of ABS plastic. Just get a bottle of ABS Cement at your local hardware store or plumbing supply. (You'd commonly find it near the PVC cement in the States, although its hard to find some places.)

The ABS Cement welds the pieces together and makes a connection as strong as the original plastic. Just apply the cement to both sides of your break and hold them together for a minute or so. Then let the piece cure for 24 hours and then you are as good as new!

No! Super Glue won't hold. The ABS Cement should just cost a couple of bucks. You need the correct type of cement to weld the plastic appropriately. (Super Glue is a different type of animal.)
