Default 97 LT1 t56 w/SSR shaft?

I have read the "Hybrid thread" about 6 times, but still have some questions. 1.What are the minimum parts required to install the SSR mainshaft into a 97 LT1 t56 trans? 2.Can the triple cone synchros be installed on the 97s 1-2 gears? 3.Can the double cone synchros be installed on the 97s 3-4 and 5-6 gears? 4.Does the 06-07 M10 and M12 transmissions 1st gear have the same tooth count as the 97 trans 1st gear and therefore be a usable 1st gear without needing any machining. I have built hundreds of automatics and probably 75 manual transmissions over the years---But have never been inside a t56. This project trans will be going behind a turbocharged 98 GMC truck. I will also be installing an LS front plate and input shaft with a Quick Time bellhousing and a twin disc clutch and hydraulic T/O bearing.

The compatible internal parts are M12 geared so the 94-02 F boxes are good for their cases.

Yup. The LT1-T56 would be used for it's case (tailhousing) and shift linkage. The Donor C5/CTSv would provide the gears and synchros, and ride on a new SSR mainshaft. You would still have the LT1 internals that can be sold to recoup some of the hybrid costs.

Thanks guys. I guess it's time to look for that donor trans.
