Default Will Tail Housing Break?

I don't know if this should be here or in suspension/brakes section but....

I want to launch the car at the track with drag radials I don't have the torque arm relocation bracket yet so the tq arm is still on the side of the tranny will launching at 3500- 4000 rpm at the line break the tail housing off the tranny if it does hook? Searched but couldn't find anything probably a stuipd question but my friend made ne worry about this.

here is the thing it can but will most likely not happen if you release the clutch a little at first to get the car rolling then release it completely. I launch my car on full slicks and skinnies at 5800rpm with ls7 clutch car lifts and this was last fall with the stock tq arm. now i swap out to a umi tunnel mounted and hoping it will lift a little harder/60' better. but I think you will be fine on radials just slip the clutch and then release quickly.

I see I don't think if I side step the clutch it will blow the tires off when I went to the track last year I lifted off the pedel at 3500 and booom went the axle out of the 10bolt I will be buying a tq arm and know a guy local who has a UMI tq arm reloc. bracket but I the wife is getting a little mad with all this money going to the car lol

Will a tailshaft housing break?? Hmm let me answer this:

Hitting 4th gear right under 120MPH, c clips blew off the driveshaft and driveshaft caused that...

Oh stock 10 bolt, street tires, stock tq arm, stock suspension...

Wow that is crazy did you spin the car around?

Now that I think of it I raced all the time with my noisy 10bolt thank god nothing happened on the highway like it locking up at 150mph or anything over 100mph.

yea but that was not due to the tq arm not being relocated. But if you on a stock 10bolt dont even try it on sticky tires even with tock tq arm you will most likly break your rearend again and not your rans either way play it safe and try to leave as low in the rpms as possible.

I had my tq arm on the transmission all last season. 6500-7000rpm clutch dumps on m/t slicks and mine tail housing survived. It's relocated this year though.

i probably have 4-5 years of 6k dumps on slicks on mine, a few hundred passes, and by some freak of nature it never broke. i was really surprised.

its off there now, got a midwest tunnel mount to replace the trans mounted spohn

you will most likely bog if you dump at only 3-4000 rpm you need to get the rpms higher then that more around 5-5500 at least.
