Default Need help t56 wont fit my ls6!!!

I have a LS6 engine froma 2004 ctsv. I bought a GTO T56 without bellhousing. I bought a bellhousing from fbody (5.5 inches long as all t56). I try to enter the main shaft into my pilot bearing and its ok but theres a 1/4'' of space between bellhousing and the engine. The shaft seems to be perfectly on the pilot bearing.

Anybody know why?
Pilot bearing can be pushed a bit more under the engine? I really dont understand.

You don't have an extended pilot bearing in the crankshaft do you?

Just saw just MUST change the pilot bearing if not installed with the cadillac T56 to put a ls1 style.

Yeah the V has the sealed ball bearing that sits right at the end of the crank. You will need the pilot for the F-body like you said.
