Default 125k on stock tranny

im looking at a possible buy on a 2000 camaroz28 and it has 125k miles on it, im not worried about the engine im going to rebuild it.... but will the tranny be ok?

yeah if it shifts good id say its ok. i got mine with 120k and on 140 right now

there is no problem shifting it feels pretty smooth, but will it handle red line shifting?

yeah what he^ said ha.. mine seemed fine but does have trouble shifting above 5600 to 2nd tho i think its just the wore out hydraulics

I have about the same miles on mine, and it is fine....manual transmissions fare pretty well in the long term, compared to autos. If you change the fluid and don't abuse the t56, it will last a really long time.

I would be more prepared (tools & exp.) to go through a T56 than an engine, and the R&R is less work, so I wouldn't sweat it at all.
