Default T-56 rebuild ?

Planning on taking out the tranny this weekend and doing a rebuild with this kit:

http://www.thegearbox.org/catalog/it...17/7824166.htm

This is an '01 WS6 so it has the better hydraulics, but my question is, what other parts of the transmission/clutch system should I look into upgrading while I am doing this? New aftermarket slave/master? Most likely doing a new clutch/flywheel too of course, but I don't know what else should be done.

Going to be attempting to rebuild the ls1 from the Camaro and swapping it into the WS6 down the road. Aiming for 500-600rwhp NA max, so the T-56 and everything must be able to handle that.

Found this complete clutch kit from Tick, so this should have me covered I think, along with their stage 2 t-56 kit. This is going to be a mission, the hardest thing I've done so far is changing the spark plugs lol.

Complete Monster Clutch Kit with 28LB Flywheel
Tick Performance Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder Kit
Tick Performance Remote Clutch SPEEDbleeder Line
GM Style Slave Cylinder (F-Body Type)
Throwout Bearing
Pilot Bearing
Clutch Alignment Tool

Hey, sounds like a plan... Just do some studying and you'll be able to do anything. Just takes time. And then when you finish, you have a sense of pride about your car. instead of a sore *** and an empty walled after getting it 'installed'

but then again, you have spark plugs...

And then you have transmissions. Just be careful buddy

Thanks. Have a friend that will be helping, knows more about working on cars than me. Hasn't done a tranny, but with the guides on here and the t-56 manual, hopefully we can get it done over a few weekends.

Just moved a couple weeks ago into a condo so I have a garage again, want to try to do 99% of things without paying for labor, while getting some good experience and knowledge.

Quick Reply: T-56 rebuild ?
