Default What is going on!?

Recently I purchased a 2000 trans am with 138k miles on it.
SO my problem is that my transmission?/clutch? is grinding gears when I step on the clutch, this does not happen all the time but mostly when its on second gear and when I step on the clutch it would grind for no reason.

This car hasn't got its clutch replaced since and Im assuming that could be the problem. On top of that it could be the transmission also cause I can hear rattles during take off. For some odd reason when I start the car it makes a weird noise idk if it's the engine or what cause I can hear it through the engine

Sorry for the bad grammar its been a long/stressful night.

If you're set up to drop the trans, that is the next step. Probably find the throwout bearing is worn out based on your description of the noise.

If you're not comfy removing the trans, time to find a shop.

If thats the case I might as well replace my clutch while my tranny is out
I been looking at this ls7 clutch/flywheel kit
http://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-d...enter/sdls7ack

Does the kit come with everything for it to run or do I need other parts?
I know I need a slave cylinder, and what else?

It is possible that the grind is relative to transmission wear too so it may be time for a rebuild. At this point all you can do is take the trans down and see what you find. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

I got the LS7 kit from them nearly two years ago and it's a great clutch. Good that you're considering the lightweight flywheel option if they have it, didn't exist at the time at as good a price point so mine's the GM iron flywheel.

You'll want a new slave cyl, and might as well get a Tick adjustable master cyl while you're in there. Do the drill mod also, it's well documented in the stickies.
