Default LNC-002 problems

I installed the diode on the LL solenoid. Never applied power to the LL.
I wired the green wire from the unit to the purple/white wire on the CCP. Left everything else alone., with the exception of the coil pack harness connections.

Anyways, when I started the car, it wouldn't hold an idle w/o a little gas. Waited until it was warm, same thing. When I let the clutch out, my cluster blanked out (no Tach or gas gauge readings). Push the clutch back in at it comes back on.

Disconnected the unit completely, car idled fine but at a higher than normal rpm (1,400rpm or so). Currently have the battery disconnected and letting it sit, hopefully the idle will come back down.

Did I do something wrong? Or am I one of the unlucky folks with a bad box (came across a few o these when searching the forums).
