The output shaft needs to be machined shorter, the tailhousing needs bored and resleeved, and a VSS needs obtained/splined for the larger shaft.

Most of the transmission sponsors sell a complete kit that you can buy that is plug and play.

This sums it up nicely.

Depends on what you pay for the parts. Mainshaft is a little less than $300 and then you need to have the tailhousing bored out for the larger rear bushing and seal. Those parts are about $15 give or take. Lastly, you will need to have your VSS modified to work with the Viper mainshaft. There are a few different ways to accomplish this and prices would vary depending on which route you go and who's doing the work on it.

You are probably better off buying a kit then.

We sell a kit that has everything included that comes in our level 3 rebuild. The cost for that is $1329.99. If you only want the viper conversion stuff (mainshaft, modified reluctor, slip yoke for the driveshaft, modified tailhousing) the cost for that would be $700. This is with a brand new tremec tail housing already modified with the bushing and seal installed. Other places may require a waiting period to modify your tailhousing or have a core charge. We should have everything in stock and ready to ship.
