Default Mcleod clutch

I recently had a friend install a new Mcleod street pro clutch in my 2001 WS6. I Had everything replaced. clutch, flywheel, bearings, slave, and master. I was on the freeway in 6th, dropped it into 4th and got on it. Clutch slipped on me hard. rpms shot up and was not pulling. God i hate that smell. my friend is a mechanic but not a clutch expert. this was the first time i really got on it since the install. I have about 400 miles on the new clutch. Also the pedal feels a little soft.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

not fully engaged? Did the installer take the proper measurements at install concerning throwout to pressure plate clearance?
