Default Spec stg 3 disk 11'', stock LS6 disk 11 3/4''?

My spec stg 3 clutch kit went out over a year ago after just 3k miles apprx. I got the LS7 kit and everythings great for 12k plus miles and I just had the first track run on it and the pedal stuck to the floor on a 3500rpm launch(clutch pedal)Fuzion street tires also, and no spin at all?.?.?.. Never had a problem with that since the T56 was built and new slave put in. Well I pulled the old clutch parts out of storage to look at things and noticed the spec disk that was somehow burnt up after 3k miles with no track time looked funny next to the LS6 disk I took out of the car. Its an 01' WS6...Well the LS6 disk is 11 3/4'' OD and has 2'' wide contact surface. The Spec disk is 11'' OD with 2 1/4'' contact width. That makes sense in a way that the spec needs to be 1/4'' more material to equal 11 3/4'' disk, but its to the inside and therefore it only covers 3/4 of the flywheel area the original LS6 covers. The receipt says 98-02 LS1. 98-00 LS1 disk was not LS6 and was infact 11''. 01' and 02' was LS6 11 3/4'' dia disk. Anyone else know whats up with that?

We used 11" units for the LS1/6 applications for a longtime. Having some over-hang on the inside is not an issue and doesn't evidence any problem. This is relative to the dimension of the puck used and there would be no impact on clutch function. Of course all of this is irellative now because our LS application now use a larger 12" disc (which is actually an ~11 7/8"). Let me know if you have any further questions. Also, if you feel that you had an issue with the part without knowing why, you are welcome to send me some pics of the parts for further assessment. I can be emailed at the address in my sig. Thanks,
