Replacement Clutch opinons
Ok, I'm looking for some opinons on a cheap replacement. First of all, I have a 97 Nissan 240sx that is currently running a 5.3L L33 with a T56, no power mods just 3in exhaust and a Z06 cam.
I'm on a tight budget so I can get my car painted, windows tinted, alarm installed and A/C lines made.
So here is what I've come down to:
1. Use my existing flywheel, that has been turned less than .010ths and pick up the stage 1 Spec clutch kit.
2. Pick up the stock Exedy Z06 clutch kit with new flywheel.
Car will be daily driven, with a possibility of a road course maybe 1 a year. Thanks for any input.

I could sell you a Diamond Stage 1 clutch kit for $369 shipped to your door. The stock flywheel (resurfaced) will work fine with it.
Go to www.diamondclutch.com to check out my products. The Stage 1 is much stronger than the LS7 and drives like stock.

As long as you don't get more than .050in removed from the stock flywheel, then it will be fine. I can also provide you with a slave cylinder shim to compensate for the difference.
Yes. The main difference between the two is the diameter of the disc/pp. The Diamond is 12in and SPEC is 11in. The larger diameter allows for more friction surface area, and more leverage. Better leverage is obtained by having longer pressure plate fingers, with different pivot points. Having better leverage makes for a stock pedal feel, even though the clamp load is higher.
You would recommend the Diamond over the Spec?
