Angry strange noise and i cant push the clutch in

So i get a call from my roommate (who took my not roadworthy 94 z to work without asking and knows next to nothing about cars) and he said the transmission "fell out" of my car on the highway. So i get there, he of course has abandoned the car on the side of the road and got a ride to work with a friend so he wasnt there for me to grill him about what happened, and i find that the clutch seems to be stuck (cant push the clutch in). When i turned the car on i also heard a loud metallic jingling sound probably coming from the clutch. The tranny shifted between gears fine when the car was turned off so i dont think its the tranny its self but the clutch. I dont have anytime to look at it today but its driving me crazy does anyone have any input on what i should look at first?

i hope its not the clutch, its a spec stage 2+ thats got maybe 2000 miles on it and has seen ZERO full throttle runs yet because of other issues.

other issues were that the opti was on its way out and i would drop cylinders left and right but i still had to drive it because it was my dd (recently got a second car). Other than that there were no other known issues with the engine or drive train.

Since it's an lt1 unbolt the slave its 2 bolts on the drivers side of the trans and look where the clutch fork is. Sometimes if they are not installed all the way they can fall off the throwout bearing. If its on that and the trans shifts fine with the car off its something else with the clutch

so it turns out the clutch fork snapped in half some how and then i couldnt push the clutch in because the slave cylinder was maxed out with fluid and wouldnt take anymore. so now i need a new clutch fork, anyone have one they want to sell me?

Wow, I actually just saw a C4 Vette do the same thing a few months ago. It is NOT easy to find a replacement clutch fork. So they are quite expensive, as they are different than most others. If you have the original clutch master/slave cylinder, then I'd recommend a new setup. GM sells it as a complete sealed unit (master, slave, hydraulic line). Its pre-bled and runs around $140. I use a GM parts guy out of Florida, as he gives the best prices that I've seen. Get in touch with me and I'll give you his number.
Oh, and I have a good LT1 clutch fork that I could let go for $70 shipped. Let me know (check my sig for contact info).
