IMHO about 200/250...
...The L98 never received a T-5 and it was rated at 225/330 in 87.
The case is the weak link and no amount of goodies will fix that, unless you throw down the coin for an aftermarket case, which defeats the purpose of buying a used transmission in the first place.
If you have the coin I wouldn't go with anything less than a T56.
What engine? car? weight? tires?

Its a 260z with a 383sbc. Engine prolly makes over 400hp. The car only weighs 2500ish pounds. I mean the tranny seems to be holding up fine for now. Its not my car, a guy just offered it as a trade.

Blew two of them out in one of my 92 Z28's before the factory warranty ran out on street tires - lol. Like the post above says, it will fail before the crappy 10 bolt will. Use the T-56 the T-5 wont hold even a stock LB9 motor if driven aggressively.

In a light weight car, it should be able to handle a decent amount of abuse as long as you use a stock type clutch. I had a customer of mine run one in his 3rd gen and it held up pretty well at the track until he put the bottle on it. I think it ran high 11's N/A and the car was probably around 3200 lbs or so.
