Default HELP: How to fit 2002 Viper T56 to 1996 Impala LT1

I have a donar 1996 LT1 engine with automatic and I want to see if I can convert it to a 2002 Viper T56 transmission. What will I need to make it fit up? This whole setup is not going in a Impala so I'm not worried bout the driveshaft nor the mounting brackets. I'm only interested in the input shaft and bellhousing that I will need and whether there are those parts availiable.

Thanks!!!

Do a search here on converting LS1 and LT1 style T56's. You'll just need a LT1 input shaft, front plate, and bellhousing and your viper trans can be bolted up to a LT1 clutch setup to a LT1 block. Make sure the transmission input and countershafts are re-shimmed after installing the new front plate.

D&D has the front plate, bellhousing, and input shaft on their web site for $850 new.

Other Tremec site sponsors might do better, or check the classifieds/craigslist/ebay/etc. for used parts.
