Default need help with master cylinder line

I just swapped my master because the old one was spewing brake fluid all over my floorboard and clutch pedal. Anyway, I can't get this steel braided line back into the slave. I followed the steps in install u, opening the bleeder to relieve system pressure, but still no luck. How hard do you push on this thing? Do I need to do anything with the little white plastic ring when I'm pushing the line back into the trans? HELP!

You're more than likely doing it right, it's just tough sometimes. I used two flat head screwdrivers to push that little white ring in. You're feel it click, but it just takes patience
