McCloud RXT/RST for drag racing
Post up if you run one. How many street miles and track passes?
HP, car weight, tires, gear, and et/60' numbers.
Can you slip it on low rpms, how dose it do with 6300-7K launches? Found alot of guys that drive them on the street but don't race them much, looking for track.
thanks

Mine drives great on the street. I made three 6XXX rpm launches at the shootout. Clutch handled it fine, rear end, not so much. 4.11's, QTP's and I know my car has to weigh a bit more than yours. I don't have any good track infor for you. The first time I really got it to hook, it broke. I ran the time in my sig with a Ram Powergrip HD though.

Sorry. RXT, same power. I was happy with the Ram. It just started slipping when I went to the QTP's and a Procharger. It makes 560rwhp. Probably 3600 or more with me in it. I had a local shops 9". It broke the torque arm mount at the welds. I ended up with the RXT after I spoke to a few guys (all were very happy with it). I also wanted a clutch that would handle more power in the future.

I been running a Centerforce DFX for 2 full season, drove it on the street, sprayed it etc etc. with ZERO issues.
my car has run 10.90's at 3800 lbs NA,ran some 10.30's messing around on spray. been 1.44 60 ft on motor, I have lauched it 15 or so times at 8100(my upper rev limit) and every other launch has been at 7k+ I know I have put 150+ passes on it....
I am going to update my monster clutch problem thread i made with the results of this clutch. with pics and such.
this clutch does hit a little hard and fast, but i think it was from my RPM's some also. my reason not going to a twin disk is the reason of them hitting so fast, and shocking the tires. but maybe I am wrong a little...

I have the RXT that I daily drive. I've got about 5k miles on and about 50 track passes on it. My car weighs just over 3700lbs. I consistantly cut low 1.4 60's. My best so far was a 1.401 60ft but average 1.42's - 1.45's. I was hoping to end this past season with a 9 sec pass but ended up with a 10.08 @ 136. My car has a forged h/c/i 347 on a 175 hit, 3.89's in my moser 9" with Hoosier 27x11.5 QTPs. The RXT is a wonderful clutch. My only issue with it is the engagement point is a bit high on the pedal travel.
Pedal effort is very light compared to just about any aftermarket single disc. When I first installed it, I thought something was wrong because the pedal was so light. I got use to it and grew to like it on the lighter side. I even noticed improved shift speeds. My car also has the tick master which will increase pedal effort abit over the stock master cylinder, but the pedal effort with this setup seem virtually identical to that of a stock clutch setup.
As far as launching with RXT, I use a controlled dump technique. I dont side step the clutch, I just let it out very fast. Keeping in mind my car is nitrous assisted which helps a great deal in getting my car to leave hard. I usually leave around 5500 but I do have full confidence the RXT will take a 7k + rpm launch. I hope this helps you!

Hey Billy,
being that i am more likely gonna be coming down to the shop again to pick up a new clutch cuz centerforce is pretty much screwing me about getting me a new disc or setup what do you recommend for the street/strip car? Ive spent all summer reading all of studderin's threads and our cars seem to be setup a like (cam only full bolt on weight reduced running on big DRs/slicks.

im on my second rxt. i got it when it first came out a few yrs ago and put 17k on the first one before it started to slip in high gear. i liked it so much i bought another. my 2 step is at 6600 and it makes the power in my sig.car is 3740# without me in it. and i go 1.43-1.44 in the 60. i love the clutch. now my mccleod master cylinder....not in love with.
and the car is very easy to drive after an hr or 2 behind the wheel. i drive it maybe once a week now whereas i used to daily it and i can hop right in and go. no studderin and no chatter.
