Zoom/Perfection clutch disk failures

Zoom/Perfection clutch disk failures
Starting a new thread so everyone can see this, since it happened to another unit for an lt1 car on here:
I would recommend avoiding the Advance Auto/Zoom/Perfection clutches for a while, I better be getting my money back, clutch was 5 months old with 5k VERY easy miles on it.

Only Advance uses the Zoom/perfection clutch and that is not a genuine Valeo 5 spring clutch disk in the photo. The AZ clutch is made by someone else who actually uses the 5 spring Valeo disk. I have read it was LUK, but I dont know for certain.
Advance will swap it out most likely.

I realize that, I just posted this to warn anyone who has/is considering one of these units. I'm sure the autozone ones (who I've also heard are made by Luk or Exedy) are much better quality.
I'm definitely hoping to get my money back, I'll update this when I'm home and get a chance to talk to them

I made the mistake of putting a zoom clutch in my LT1 when i had it...the throwout bearing shattered under normal/easy driving in 2months (2k miles)
Oh and I sent it back to summit and they gave my money back

Thank you for posting this, its not only those type of clutch's that do this, I had this happen 5-26-13 while a WOT from first to second. I have a Centerforce Clutch though and after not ever 5,000 miles it did the same thing your has done, its stuck in the engage mode, parts also came off just like yours, and I have to tear it out again and get another clutch.
