My $0.02, you might have better luck asking in the Automatic Forum, or over on Corvetteforum. Folks here would be bias on keeping the T56 in place...

Talk to Jeremy@RPMTransmissions. They build build conversion kits to install a 4L80e in a Vette, so this swap should be easy.

I have spoke with Justin and he wants to go from a 6L80e to a T56. He is going to have a very hard time finding someone who wants to trade a T56 setup for a 6L80e. Sense most C6 A6 owners are moving away from the A6 because of the difficulty in tuning them to last any length of time. The C6 A6 cars are a complete nightmare to do transmission conversions on. You have to first rewire the car to think it was a manual transmission. This takes roughly 15-20 hours. Then from there you can decide if you want to go T56, 4L60e, 4L80e or TH400.

Here is a list of the hard parts you will need to do the conversion. This doesn't include the 15-20 hours of wiring required to make the car function afterwards.

You will need everything drivetrain related from an 06-08 manual transmission car. I do not recommend mixing and matching parts. There are some differences in the C6 drivetrain that will not let the parts work together.

06-08 T56/TR6060 transmission (Cooler lines and a heat exchanger will be required with a T56 or TR6060 from any Z51 equiped car)
06-08 Differential with 3.42 gears or numerically higher
06-08 Manual transmission torque tube assembly
06-07 Clutch pedal assembly
06-11 shifter assembly
Clutch and flywheel kit (LS7 would work for what you are doing)

usually I would say just swap it, but Its just smarter to sell your corvette and buy another one.
