Default Question about my t56

So ive been hearing this whining noise from my transmission. i think its just gear whine but i want others opinions. when ever im rolling and go to slide it in 2nd i here a whining noise. the noise starts off high pitched and reduces in pitch once in gear. as i let out the clutch the noise gets louder and higher pitched the faster i go. the tranny doesnt grind in any gear. car is 2002 camaro ss, has 49,xxx miles. other than the noise the transmission shifts fine.

Anyone experience something like that?

I was gonna try some mobil 1 syn ATF to quiet the tranny a little.

thanks guys!

In 2nd only? The T56 does have normal noise.

Audio clip of it?

i dont have a clip. wont be able to get one any time soon. im in a different state. it does it in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd but 3rd isnt as loud as the first too. i dont think it happens in any other gear but i could be wrong. i wish i was around the car.

i had changed the fluid in it to synthetic fluid and it seemed to go away alot. but i was looking on the forum and people were saying that the synthetic is bad for the t56 so i switched it back to dex 3.

1-3 but not 4...
The mainshaft front bearing within the input shaft could be damaged. It doesn't move when in 4th.

Or the gear teeth on the input/cluster could be undercut. This happens if it was ran low on fluid at one time or another.
