Default Best T-56/Clutch Combo for 600 rwhp Smooth Street Setup

Im getting ideas for putting together parts for my future Lexus IS300 LS6 swap. The car will weigh in at around right at 3,200 lbs. when all is said and done. This will be a mostly street driven sleeper setup so I will be trying to make around 430 rwhp out of the stock '04 Z06 motor with cam and bolt-ons and I will spray occasionally to get me up to around 600 rwhp. I'm not planning on exceeding 600 rwhp and like I said, that will only be an occasional 150-175 shot. Also, Im probably gonna get the cam speced a little more on the high end side of power rather than for a lot of tq since the car is relatively light, it comes with 3.90 gears already, and 275 is about as wide a tire as you can fit in the rear without some heavy modification.

Basically, I'm looking for a setup that can handle this power requirement in this light car relatively reliably (given I don't beat it to death) and still be very smooth on the street for daily driving; smooth shifting with a light and effortless clutch feel.

I was originally thinking of going with a stock MN12 out of a GTO, which I still may, with a Spec 2+ or 3+ clutch and lightweight flywheel.

I'm trying to keep from spending too much here because I really dont think that I need an all out built tranny and big clutch for this setup, but please give me some helpful feedback here to help me make the right choices.

Our RST will fit that build. Holds 800hp,soft as a toyota and smooth as a cadillac.

Yea I would say like the RST twin will be buttery smooth and take 600 with ease.

....or Monster Stage 3 or 4 with 28lb billet flywheel if you are on a budget.

I have read up on the RST and it does sound like a great clutch. Would it be better for my setup with a billet steel or aluminum flywheel?

Thats up to you. For drag racing I would stay with a steel flywheel.

This will be a mostly street car so I'm thinking lightweight for drivability and quicker revs.

By the way, while I'm thinking about it, does the MN12 use the same length DS and the same crossmember as the f-body M6?

An MN12 is a GTO (or C5 Z06) T56.
