Default Umi VS WS6 Store short sticks?

Im planning on just going with a short stick for now and getting a short throw shifter later. So other than the few dollar difference is there any difference to the feel of the Umi short stick to the Ws6 store short stick? I know the threads for the ***** are the same and the Ws6 one is 6" or 6 1/2" depending on which one you get. I dont know the overall length of the Umi. Anyone that has either or had both, and input is apreciated. thanks

UMI angles towards you, WS6 and TNA do not

Not my reveiw work but maybe these threads will help

One opinion that the WS6 store SS is better here.

Looks like you may be able to PM "NVR SPDS" in this thread, on this forum for info. He has had all kinds of setups in his car.

I would say you are going to get an improvement over stock with either.

From Tick's wesite:

Here is a pic of stock hurst shifter vs UMI for a good guess on overall length.

It will depend on your user preference and how you like your stick. We found the angle to be nice on the factory Hurst and the PRO 5.0.. I haven't personally used it on other bases.

Our overall length is 6.375" but has enough threads on it that it can be cut shorter if needed.

Both sticks are nice and work well, just depends what you like.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

I haven't seen a UMI stick...but I absolutely love the feel and throw of my WS6 shortstick with a Hurst ball. I no longer punch the dash shifting into 1st and 3rd

Can't speak as to the other sticks, but I have the WS6 short stick because I didn't want the bend or angle. Had it for about 2 Yrs. mated to a Hurst Billet Plus short throw shifter and Hurst T-handle. It all works good but the Billet Plus shifter is noisier than the stock, I think, because it has a harder nylon bushing/ball and may not fit quite as snug down in the tranny. The stock handle also has a rubber dampener in the base. Overall happy with the WS6 SS. It tucks nicely in the boot and is hardly visible too.

I just got the UMI stick, it was leaned over just a little to far for me, so i just put in a vise and heated it and bent it back just a little, now its perfect. I like it so far. either one is gonna give u a more postive feel with the gears vs the stock Hurst stick.

Digging up an old one, only because I'm thinking the MGW would be a bit much for a weekend cruiser:

Is there any advantage to the angled UMI stick? Is it a better feel? (The pictures I've seen look like it has a pretty large angle).

I'm assuming there must be some reason, or else why would UMI make it that way?

I can't see why the MGW would be too much for a weekend cruiser, unless you're talking about price wise..

But some people just prefer the angled stick. I've had both the UMI short stick, and the WS6 store short stick. I much prefer it to be angled towards me. I currently run a Lou's Short Stick, which if I'm not mistaken is even more angled than the UMI.

I'd say price is the main concern, unless it can guarantee me that nice crisp "snick snick" the new camaro shifters offer...

The sticks are the same, the WS6 stick is just angled slightly different but comes from UMI since UMI makes them for him.

We have them on clearance.

I put the WS6 short stick in my car, never thought it would make that much of a difference but its for sure a lot of bang for a little buck! Shifts are solid and clean with no stick noise.

I also have the WS6 Store short stick. I put it in just before hardbones did. Love it. It was night and day over the factory shifter handle. You get nice clean, firm handed shifts. I'm sure the others are fine, never tried them. No better way to spend $20 bucks.
