Default Clutch not disengaging all the way?

My clutch isnt disengaging all the way. I just did an ls7 swap and replaced the slave cylinder. My master cylinder had less than 8000 miles on it so I figured it didnt need replacing. I was running a centerforce clutch which was giving me the same issue. Anybody ever had this issue? Could my master cylinder be bad already?

The stock LS7 clutch uses a Self-adjusting pressure-plate that can cause issues with release if miss-adjustment occurs. Did you check the position of the springs mounted radially on the plate before you installed the kit? They should be fully compressed prior to install. If these springs have different amounts of compression the plate will not lift evenly which can cause the clutch to drag. Unfortunately you will have to pull the clutch to check this but it is a possible cause.

I did check it visually. They looked fully compressed but Im not 100% since im not sure it was supposed to look like. Can the transmission be an issue? Like a bad input shaft? The transmission shifts beautiful, no grinding, no random sounds etc etc.

If the shaft was damaged or bent it could affect the ease with which the disc moves. I understand the suggestion for using the Tick Master but these are stock parts...and shouldn't require it. Of course proper slave and master function is a big part of the clutch functioning as it should.

Thanks for the info. I will have to get a Tick I guess. Just sucks since I just spent almost $200 bucks for a new one.

That advantage of our master is that it has the capability to flow much more fluid than a stock unit. More details here: http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-...or-ls1-f-body/

Finally fixed! Decided I was going to do it all over again so I bought a new clutch and slave. Also got the shim kit from Tick Performance. After measuring and making sure of my measurements I found out it needed to be shimmed after all. I fell for the "no, it doesnt need to be shimmed" line the first time. From my experience, I would measure for ANY clutch. It only takes a couple minutes and could save you $$$. Hopefully this will help someone else in the future.

I would still buy the tick I just installed mine yesterday and it is like a completely differant car I can actually speed shift the car above 5600 now which I was never able to do with my stock slave. The tick is just leaps and bounds above any stock master. My two cents.
