Default M12 ? in a gto

ok i know the gto comes with the M12 tranny but will a normal f-body T56 be the same. i know the gear ratios and other things are different but will it bolt in using the stock crossmember and driveshaft and does the shifter mount the same thanks

You can bolt an F body trans right in place. All you need to do is swap the shift selector arm out in the tailhousing with the one from your current unit.

sorry to sound dumb but are u talking about the piece that your shifter sits on like what controls the linkage in the gates a link to see what exactly your talking about would greatly be appreciated

The cup the shifter arm (ball) gose in.
