Default clutch for 750 - 800 wheel range.

I've blown through two mc leod street twins already. They're absolute garbage. Other then a tex twin what other clutches will be reliable at this power? Seems like there's so many now. Please speak from experience. I'm not interested in spending another 1200 on a garbage clutch. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Are you looking for another Twin or a Single-disc option. I ask because we offer multiple parts that are rated to more than 800lb.-ft at the crank and that will provide good street-manners too. What type of usage does the car see? Let me know and I will be happy to make a recommendation. Thanks,

My hendrix six puck single disk has yet to flinch or slip.... She is a bit of an on/off switch and dosent like to be slipped, and has a bit heavier pedal feel, but i daily drive her with no problem. Numbers in sig...

The car sees mostly street. Occasional track time but not much. More brake boosted low mph hits. The mc leod would slip without fail bottom of 4th every time. Car has 11.5 inch et streets on a 15 inch rim. Id prefer a twin but anything that will hold works for me. My old cat had a tex twin and although held it was either off or on. But I can deal with that too.

I can vouch 100% for the Text twin disc as I was running one in my 99 408 turbo car.. The car made 754 wheel horse on pump gas and the clutch never slipped the first time while I had it, not to mention it was a great clutch to ride around on the street with also.. I have a friend here in town who has a Mcleod twin disc who is having problems with it.. I am now running a single disc in my z06 howver its the HD grip and it put down 610 to the rear wheels... Good luck bud.. But I will be sticking with textrailia for a while.

Sounds like a Level 5 Monster would fit the bill for your set-up, it's a single disc that won't leave you walking in circles and isn't an on/off switch. Feel free to call me if you have questions. Chris, 817-750-2000

Any of our Super-Twin offerings will easily fit the bill, providing plenty of capacity and great drivability too. I have provided a link to these below. Take a look and let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

I have a Mcleod RXT twin disk in mine with the billet steel flywheel. It has great street manners and grabs very nicely. On a side note, if you're not properly shimming or breaking in the clutch, it doesnt matter what brand or disk count it is, it will not last.

yeah, but how much power do you make? Im shooting for 850ish tq, but the mcleod street twin was slipping with just 760 tq.

Ive probably bought and installed more clutches then 90% of the people on this forum. That's not the problem. I never had a problem with the multiple spec 2s, 3's, 3+, ram, tex twin, etc that have been in the cars ive owned. Just the mcleod. two of them actually.
