Default Clutch pedal stays on floor - 4th Gen

Pedal wants to stay on the floor & have to pull it up with toe -

Sometimes clutch stays engaged a little when all the way in & can't shift

Intermittent - not every time...................

Has been OK except for 2-3 shifts are difficult (once in awhile)

I've done the 1/8" drill mod on 2 other 4th Gen cars & this one today.

(There are posts on LS-1 Tech on how to do it if you need to)

Other two cars are just fine - this one is not - nothing really changed.

Questions????

I wonder if I could have some air in the line even though I'm sure we bled it right?

Any other ideas????

What should I try next?

Thanks for any assistance.

Jim

it could be the pressure plate getting weak, my cars getting a low pedal after a beating. today when it happened i started playing with the pedal and felt a bump when the pedal came back up so definately a mechanical issue

Try the Tick Master first, that helped out a lot but I was still having clutch problems, got an LS7 clutch and now that's all in the past.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the advise.

I guess I'll be putting in a new clutch.

GMMG Phase IIX/475hp

What's best? GM LS-7 clutch or something else?

Anyone have part numbers so I get it right?

Thanks again. Jim

something other then the ls7 if your gona make any power later, i'm thinking about a diamond 2, or mcleod rst twin disc seem to be getting great reviews and the kits are far lighter then the ls7 from what i've heard.

Ticks are ok but you dont need it just get a stock GM master and a new clutch u will be fine. I got the Monster Stage 3 clutch its incredible grabs very hard wouldnt buy anything else. I take it to the track about 50 runs a year i got about 15 on this clutch and it pulls very hard and no clutch issues at all. Last year i tried everything like u and still stuck to the floor. I recommend the Monster Clutch over the LS7 any day. Plus its nice knowing you have something that can take some abuse and is very streetable.

You'd be better off with a level 1 Monster or Diamond as they are basically upgraded LS7 clutches. Only good thing about an LS7 is it's a bit cheaper.

I'd recommend Monster well over the LS7. Our level 1 is superior in everyway to the LS7 clutch, it's got a higher plate load and much better coefficient of friction with the material we use.

Give us a call and we'll get you into a Monster, if you do decide to get a Tick (and I highly recommend their product), Joey can hook you up with both the master and a Monster!

Default Found the problem - thanks

Did 'drill mod' on 2 of my GMMG's & fixed the pedal problem.

GMMG PE #37 was different - took apart & found a cracked sleeve/spacer on the slave cylinder.

New LS7 clutch, flywheel, slave & other parts fixed problem.

Shifts & drives like new.

Thanks again for all the tips.

Jim
