Default trans swap questions.

I am looking to do the A4 to M6 swap and have a few questions I could not find answers to.

Would a T56 out of a 98 fit and have the same connections as a 99?

Would I be able to run the t56 on the a4 computer so I can drive it to get it flashed?

Thanks, Chris

I was jsut talkign to the guys at painless about their conversion harness, and they mentioned having to flash the computer to turn off the transmission controls. I would assume that the computer would be unhappy if there were no auto there to be controlled.

you COULD drive it, but it would be an absolute pain. the RPMS are going to want to hang up, and its going to idle terribly. When i did mine, I dropped off my PCM at a tuner's shop and just had them reflash.

And yes, a 98 T56 will work in other cars, its the 98 harness that creates issues.

There really isnt much of a Conversion Harness needed..just a couple of wires that need to be moved in the Harness..kinda easy really..
