Default Hurst = Short Throw??

Is the Hurst shifter that came in my SS considered a "short throw"?

How is it different than the standard z-28 6 speed shifter? The ****?

Yes the throws are a little shorter than the standard shifter.

Thanks.

Are there others with shorter throw than the Hurst?

The factory hurst shifter has a shorter throw than the standard option... but any aftermarket shifter will probably be even shorter

also, if you don't want to swap shifter assmebly's altogether, you can always get a shorter stick to replace that curved one that GM gave us. I got a hurst chrome short stick for mine and a white ball.

I also bought a Hurst short stick for my SS from the WS6 store and I love the way the car shifts now, very crisp and solid.

+1 For the money, (which isn't much) the short stick has given me the most bang for my buck over any other repair or tweak. Its amazing the difference it makes.

call me crazy but I prefer running my old hurst stick on my pro 5.0 over the shorter one that comes with it, love hursts ***** too
I'll probably grab a lou's short stick and try that out sometime but I think what I love about the hurst stick is the bend so I'll probably get another and cut it down a bit and see how I like that

I've been wanting one that's longer than the hurst short stick I have, and maybe with the bend/leanback/whatever they call it. Are you trying to sell those cause I would be interested!

sorry i have only two .i gave away the rest. look at swap meets and car shows in your area . talk to the old timers at car shows see if they have junk ones intheir garage dont give over twenty bucks. hack saw and drill does the trick. i welded a m16 bolt on the end of mine and added a hurst pistol grip, offset it back so i rest my arm on the console and shift.my tuner thought it was real comfortable..
