Exclamation Clutch failing to stay engaged with pedal on the floor

I keep thinking I've replaced every mechanical component on this car...but it keeps breaking anyway.

The latest to go is something with the clutch. While at a stoplight with transmission in first and clutch fully depressed, I notice the car wants to roll forward. The longer I sit there with the clutch depressed, the less engaged the clutch seems to be until the car finally stalls (light is still red).

It seems like my clutch isn't holding pressure. I took a quick look at the fluid. It's brown, but must have been replaced about a year ago when the engine was pulled. Fluid level isn't low.

My intuition makes me want to order a new clutch master cylinder. Any thoughts?

I'd try flushing and rebleeding the fluid, if it's dirty it's not allowing the hydraulics to operate properly.

I agree with SNL, but my question is why are you sitting through an entire light with the clutch engaged anyway? I'm in neutral until I need to go and I only have the clutch in when I need it.

A good read on Hydraulics is here: http://tick-performance.com/images/tickshiftfaq.html

Our Adjustable Master Cylinder would be a wise investment: http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-...or-ls1-f-body/
