Car locked up in neutral, will only roll with clutch pressed???
Car is at slowhawk performance. Don was starting my new motor, and after 4 seconds the drive-train locked up and lurched forward. He put it to the side till i came down to the shop.
Since i built the car its much easier for me to pull the tranny and check things out. Plus i can't afford to have Don figure it out since it may take much longer for him since its not an f-body or a vette.
Basically with the tranny in neutral the car won't move. Press the clutch and it rolls but with a scraping sound coming from the bell-housing. Don suggested what the issue may be, but no one will know till the tranny gets pulled.
Anyone ever see this before? I won't get around to pulling the tranny till October since i'll be out of the country for most of sept and its going to be driving me nuts.

The more i think if it, the more confused i get. I don't see how it can be a clutch issuse.
Don't think it matters but the clutch is a brand spanking new mcleod rxt twin
Correct me if im wrong. With the trans in neutral, the clutch disc is engaged to the flywheel and should spin the trans input shaft with the engine. Then with the clutch disengaged it should release the flywheel and the input-shaft is then free to spin on its own.
Based on my symptoms i have a tranny issue not a clutch issues im assuming.

It helps to include more info about the vehicle outside of the clutch.
The clutch is releasing.
A mismatched input shaft & pilot bushing/bearing could be preloading the input / crank / trans. bearings. That's the sort of thing that would work momentarily, then lock up.
Now, what's Don the mystery man think the diagnosis is?

The car is a 1933 ford. Engine is an lq block with stroker crank. Using LS1 pilot bearing with camaro t56.
What do you mean mystery man? He's the owner of slowhawk performance. Doing all my tuning. http://slowhawkperformance.com/
Anyways he thinks its something jammed between the tranny face plate, and pressure plate.
