Need new syncros? 1st slides right out. My 1st gear has been popping out for the longest time. It normally goes in after the second try or if I move up a little with 2nd gear and I will sit in 1st when I put it in. 3rd gear has a little grind once in a while when I put it from 2nd and almost all the time when I downshift.
Now 1st gear will not work at all...it comes right out. It does even pop like before it just slides out. I screwed up in a race when I thought I was going into 3rd at 80mph, but it was 1st. I kind of fought it into gear b/c normally 3rd gear gives me problems when I downshift, so I thought it was normall when I kind of forced it in. The tires locked up and I quickly took it out. Do you guys think I messed up something besides the syncros?
Generally how much w/labor included does syncros cause to change? Someone told me it could just be the ring that protects the syncros, cuz my gear shifting has always been notchy. Even after I changed my clutch.
