Default M6 cars with 2-step launch controller questions

Ok I recently bought a lingenfelter 2-step launch controller & hoping to get some consistency & lower my 60' times. The few times I went to the track with it doesnt matter where I set it at I keep spinning bad on the launch. I am running MT DRs at 17 psi & normally slip the clutch a lil to prevent the tires from breaking loose. If using a 2-step do you dump the clutch or slip it? If so what what rpm do you set it at? Slicks or DRs? Last weekend I got so discouraged with it I just quit using it( & I still kept spinning. A few weeks ago I kept cutting 1.7s most of the day, before I got the 2-step. Thanks.

First your a M6 so you need a bias ply tire, I Do a quick dump, I dont side step it just lift my foot off quickly and have my 2 step set a 6k.

The 2-step won't make your car hook. You need to have a properly setup suspension, then use your 2-step for consistency.

Def need some slicks! I run MT 28x10.5's and side step the clutch off the 2-step at 6500. Same way on nitrous too... makes for a heck of a ride if the track is there. Most generally even on crappy tracks I could set the 2-step down to around 5300 on motor and still pull good 60's. The track will dictate the RPM, you just have to find the sweet spot for the track conditions once you have the right suspension setup under the car. I'm running all UMI stuff with Moser relocation brackets on my 9". Being a 6spd car you'll want to get a drag bar to help control axle twist on launch. My car settled down ALOT with the addition of UMI's Drag bar.
