If its the one im thinking that your talking about that goes up slightly and then bends back towards the driver and then goes back up, i hate those and it might hit your console when you go to 2nd,4th or 6th but not sure and maybe im wrong about what handle you mean.

I'm actually thinking about a gto style shifter. I'm not afraid to mod the console as km redoing the interior this winter anyway. Dumb question, can you just bolt on a gto shifter to a fbody t56?

The GTO offset shifter block (roll-pin to swap it) is longer.

There are fewer GTO shifter choices and it adds another pivot point to things, so avoid it until you're sure a custom stick won't work for you.

I will try a custom first. Gto might be just what I want though. Anyone know of anybody that sells a stick that moves the handle back?

Lou's short stick moves it toward the driver and getting a short throw like a Pro 5.0 might move it back a small amount since 1st 3rd and 5th wouldn't be as far up. Just an idea. With a bent one I'd be afraid I'd hit the console in 2, 4, 6.

Default taller shifter

hey cosmos, i'm a tall guy too. i used a hurst pistol grip handle and brought it up a couple inches. also i took an old hurst shifter stalk, cut it, and welded an m16 bolt( i think it was an m16 bolt )any way i dog legged it back toward the rear and screwed the pistol grip so far back that i can leave my arm resting on the con sole and shift confortably..
