Default flywheel indexing question (quick)

i removed the stock flywheel but didn't note or mark the position on the crank. when i install my new stock flywheel can i just line up the locator hole on the flywheel with the locator hole on the crank and bolt it to spec? is that how they originally assembled them?
i looked on my flywheel and couldnt find any weights, it does have a 2 small holes of different depths on one side though.
