Default Help with T56 yoke an driveshaft

Iv got a 95 Camaro came stock with the V6 an it has a motor and transmission swapped that came outta a 00' Vette. it has the borg warner T56. an last week the transmission went out so im going to pick up a new one tomorrow an the mechanic told me i need a new driveshaft an rear yoke.

***NOW my questions is what driveshaft an yoke do i need to get since when the transmission is in a vette its on the transaxle an mounted way differently than when in a camaro.

So im gonna call up the salvage yard an do i just need a rear yoke an driveshaft outta a 00 SS Camaro?

If your mechanic has worked on it, seen it up close and naked...

And you post here with questions but no pictures nor measurements...

It's probably best to ask that question of the mechanic you've been paying.

How did you get the trans from the vette to work in an F-body?

That's what I want to know. I know the vette trans can be modified to work but it shouldn't be mounted any different. I don't know about the overall length after the modifications compared to the stock t 56 but if there is a difference I can see it causing drive shaft issues.

Oh to the op, check the classified. You can pick up a stock aluminum drive shaft between 75 and 100 bucks.

I have no idea how he got it to work but its in there only issue i had was the master cylinder an slave cylinder. so i ended up going with an adjustable camaro master cyl an a corvette slave. we compared it last night to my buddies camaro t56 an they look almost the same except for the mounting brackets

It's not a big deal to convert a Vette T56 to f-body. You have to do it swap in a GTO mainshaft, F-body tailshaft housing, f-body/GTO front bearing retainer (aka midplate), f-body shift rail, & offset lever. The trans will look no different than the stock 98-02 f-body one.
Unless he performed all the above work, I don't see how else it could have been done.
Needless to say, post some pics of this.
