Default TR6060 HP/TQ Ratings

Hey, hope everyone is enjoying their holidays..

I am looking at purchasing a TR6060 trans for my swap and would like a little guidance on HP/TQ ratings. D&D lists the capacity at 700lb-ft and I know I'll be making more than that. My car (SC400) will be geared (no pun intended) more toward street driving as opposed to track.

Can I get away with running this transmission without having to upgrade, even though I anticipate running 150-200 lb-ft more torque? Also is there a "rule of thumb" to follow when selecting transmissions where rated capacity is lower than what the motor puts out?

Also, my car runs 3.92 rear ratio stock but can be swapped out to a 3.27 ratio, which is OK for the Getrag's gear ratio spread. What would be best for the TR6060?

Thanks for the assistance
Ciao

Hi Ciao,

Our built TR6060 transmissions have been tested to 900ftlbs. If you are focusing your build on street driving and not all out high RPM, slick tire launching drag racing you should have no issues.

With that kindof power the 3.92 will be a tire smoking machine. A 3.27 gear will do everything you need it to for a street car.

Thanks Jeremy, I'll be in touch soon.

D&D sells a T56 Magnum, not a TR6060 (though they are based off the TR6060).

I plan on pushing mine upwards of 1000whp on the street. Here's my conversion thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...body-pics.html

We do T56 Magnums as well. The 2010 camaro TR6060 conversion is a really neat alternative. We have everything in house to do that exact conversion if you don't have a camaro core to build.
