Default slave cylinder shim with LS7?

I'm going to be installing an LS7 clutch with new stock hydraulics soon. Just want to know from anyone who has done this if you used a shim on your slave cylinder? I know it's not needed but I heard it helps prevent the clutch pedal from engaging at the bottom of it's travel. And a thickness of the shim too.
