Default Rebuilt T56 or buy a T56 Magnum

I have a LS1 T56 from a 2000 Camaro with 54k miles. It will be mated to an L76 engine that will be cammed to around 500HP. I am worried that it might not handle that much HP. Should I rebuild the transmission with tougher internals or should I sell it and buy myself a T56 Magnum. This setup is going into a pro touring 68 Camaro. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.
Larry

I vote Magnum

Should be easier for you with the 69 since the shifter of a magnum can be positioned in several orientations depending on your trans tunnel!

A T56 can handle 500 hp without much effort.
