Default Difference between some T56 trannys -need to know before I buy

I've tried to google/search but haven't really come across what I am looking for.

I have an LQ4 that I am rebuilding/LS3 top end. I cam across some local adds for a T56. There is a guy who has both a C5 and C6 transmission, but someone told me these are mounted in the rear? So the pictures look different then what I am use to seeing a t56 look like.

Does it just need a bellhousing and some unit that has the shifter over the output shaft to convert it into a normal t56 that I can use (along with the proper clutch/spacers/flywheel and what ever else I need) ???

I found the following 3, are any of these going to work for my application?

2005 c6 tranny (50K) 1000$
2006 c6 tranny (22K on it) $unknown
freshly rebuilt c5 z06 tranny (waiting on year) $unknown

I remember reading the 00-02 f-body if I could find complete would work best for me?

Thanks, and sorry for being a noob

The Vette application units only fit that chassis. You can convert a Vette unit to replace the conventional type rwd application but its costly.

Just for the hell of it........here ya go:

LS1 mid plate $160ish
Fbody main shift rail $40ish
Fbody shift selector arm $45ish
GTO main shaft $200ish
Fbody tail housing $200ish
VSS wheel $25ish
Labor $250-$350ish

Thats providing you need nothing else when it is torn down and if you have it done locally so you have no shipping cost incurred.

Im assuming you are trying to put this in an Fbody? If so, yes it would take a lot of conversion parts to make it work with no real difference in strength versus building your own T56. I would encourage you to check out our T56 Builds that we offer. I have posted a link below, the prices include shipping to and from your location!!!
