Default Will stock clutch hold for a few pulls?

I'm wrapping up my turbo project on the Camaro and am hoping to be able to roll the car out of the garage to drive around to check for any bugs, issues, leaks etc. in the next couple weeks (barring our NY weather).

My question is will the stock clutch (has about 10k miles on it) work for me to just test the car out and make some pulls to check the tune? No launches or anything of course.

In no way am I planning on keeping the stocker in there I am planning to either run a Monster Stage 3+ or the Mcleod RST twin but it's going to be about another month or so before I get my taxes back and can afford it.

Thanks ahead!

It will be fine for a few pulls on the street. Hitting the dyno with high HP and factory clutch will be a little rough on the clutch. Although my clutch had higher miles, around 45K, by the 3rd dyno pull on my H/C/I car the whole shop stunk of clutch. Had to quit there if I wanted to be able to drive home. Even then I had the stock clutch after my dyno tune for nearly 1.5 years until I picked up my Textralia. I just didn't beat the **** out of it.

Thanks for the info man much appreciated, that is what I was hoping to hear. Like I mentioned a clutch is planned for this build but i'd just like to be able to get in some street pulls and work out any bugs I might see during the extra time I will have before my taxes are done and back.

I agree. I don't see why it would be a problem.

It depends on how much power your turbo car will make, if it's too far north of 500-550 the stock clutch will die very, very quickly. Any pulls on the freeway or a couple of pulls on a dyno.

With 420whp and a 3000lb weight My stock ls6 clutch cannot manage to hold after a couple fun runs on the freeway. I get two MAX before I have to let it cool off. Meaning 6th with light throttle. Something beefier is in my near future as well. From a stop at the strip on anything sticky forget about it. Add in a turbo and you are slipping all the way to the 1/4 mile line for sure.

Edit: Mine has maybe 30k on it. For the purpose of 3rd or 4th gear pulls for tuning it MIGHT last. But certainly don't count on it.
