It can be converted. It might not be worth buying unless you can get it very cheap. You will need to replace the mid plate, mainshaft (you will need a GTO shaft because the triple cone synchros), f-body/GTO tail housing, f-body/GTO shift rail and offset lever. Those parts will run you around $600-650.00.

If it is going behind an LT1 it wouldn't work. The F-body transmission is single cone. This means your input shaft won't with the triple cone corvette trans. The only parts you would be able to use out of your LT1 trans is the tail housing and shift rail. If you convert your car to a push style clutch you can use the corvette input shaft along with the mid plate and get an LS1 f-body/GTO bellhousing. It's kindof complicated but it has been done.
