'06 GTO - T56 shifter will barely move or go into gear
The car only has 57K miles, according to the owners manual the ATF was replaced with Amsoil around 45K. It's been great, now all of a sudden when backing into a parking space, the shifter is EXTREMELY hard to move anywhere. It takes serious effort to move it back & forth in neutral, and the only way it goes into gear is if I force it hard.
None of the gears are grinding, I'm assuming the clutch is engaging/disengaging like it should because the ride home was fine (aside from having to manhandle to get it to move), its just that I can barely move the shifter. When pushed in the reverse gate, it gets stuck and wont get out unless you force it. The master cylinder fluid is fairly clean, as I have been doing the turkey baster **** all week replacing it with fresh stuff.
I'm going to break down the shifter to make sure everything is OK with that, just to rule it out. Does it sound like it could be the shifter or something else? I bolded the main points to make it seem like less of a wall of text
Please, any help is greatly appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the problem is!!
