Transmissions are the same after the mid plate. You would need a new bell housing, mid plate and input shaft. All of these are pretty easy to replace.
Down load the two different manuals so you can see the differences. Good Luck

I was told by a few shops a 93 was a little weaker then the 94 up. Something about the gear ratios I believe. However claim 400 rear hp is duable. I have actually seen a little more then this and even on nitrous with out breaking. Not to scare u but letting you know. I plan to see what my 93 t56 can do.

If the transmission is truely from a '93 you will not be able to make it work with your LS engine. 1993 transmission did have a different ratio. This ratio was never offered on LS powered f-bodies. Therefore, there is no input shaft made that would adapt this to your application. The tooth count of the input shafts are different....

One easy way to tell if the trans really is a '93 is if it has a skip shift solenoid or not. '93 transmissions will not have the skip shift solenoid...the location for it was never even drilled and tapped. '94 and up transmission do have the skip shift solenoid. With those transmissions you can change the input shaft and front adapter plate as mentioned previously.

You can make the 93 fit the LS engine. I have one that is in my 95 bird i swapped a 5.3 into. Its actually pretty easy hit up jason @ TDP and have him splice the input shaft. You will also have to shim up the input shaft and counter shaft but its nothing to get overworked about. any no the 93 trans are rated the same as the 94+ that is a myth and tottaly not true.
